Chairlift
The Chairlift ("Libegő" in Hungarian) is a popular alternative means of transport in the Buda Hills. The nearly 1-km-long, cable-suspended conveyance is found in district XII and takes riders up the side of János Hill in about 15 minutes. Near the upper station stands the Erzsébet Lookout Tower, providing an amazing view of Budapest
Janos Hill –Elisabeth lookout tower
János Hill (János-hegy) is the highest point of Budapest located on an altitude of 529 m high above the city. Elisabeth Lookout Tower standing on the top of Janos Hill was built in 1910 to commemorate the visit of the royal couple Austrian Emperor and Hungarian King Franz Joseph and his wife Queen Elisabeth nicknamed Sissi who was the most beloved queen of Hungary. Here you can enjoy a breathtaking panorama of the city. The visibility is amazing , in clear weather you can see as far as 80 kilometers away, and locals claim that in certain atmospheric conditions even the peaks of the High Tatra Mountains are visible in the distance.
Harmashatar hill-Karoly Gückler lookout
The new Karoly Gückler lookout tower was built on the top of Harmashatar hill at an elevation approximately 500 m high. The lofty structure is perfectly positioned to overlook the city from a whole new point of view – when the weather is clear, this vantage point provides views far beyond the Budapest city limits, including the hills beyond Szentendre and Gödöllő, with the Megyeri Bridge
Palvolgyi Cave
This 29km-long cave discovered in 1904 is the longest cave of Hungary including the connecting Matyashegyi and Szemlohegyi caves and it is noted for its spectacular stalactites and rock formations. The tour lasts 45 minutes and it is 500 m long taking you through narrow passages and up several hundred steps. Highlights include John's Lookout in the largest of chambers, as well as Radium Hall, reminiscent of Dante's Inferno. The temperature is a constant 11°C so wear a jacket or jumper.
